This piece was handmade on the potter's wheel by Lindsey from porcelain clay. It is glazed with a teal crystalline glaze: silvery blue colored crystals floating on the deep teal (blue-green) surface. Where the glaze pools in the center of the platter, it color is a deep, rich color that gives a multitude of depth and dimension to this piece.
- 12" diameter and is 2.5" tall
Due to the unique nature of crystalline glazes, no two pieces are ever alike. The crystals are actually grown during the firing and cooling process. The time and temperature must be accurate in order to achieve crystal growth on the piece.
This platter/shallow bowl would look lovely on a coffee table, as a centerpiece or displayed on a plate stand.
